#Senegal’s first Scaling Solar auction has yielded a record-low solar tariff of just €3.8 cents per kilowatt hour, the lowest price of all power sources in the country. Senegal’s successful tendering process follows the inaugural Scaling Solar auction in Zambia, which in May 2016 yielded the lowest solar tariff in sub-Saharan #Africa at that time at 6.015 U.S. cents. Scaling Solar is a World Bank Group program that connects governments and investors in a transparent, streamlined, and competitive process that makes it easier to and faster develop solar power in Emerging Markets at low cost: http://wrld.bg/d0D830jS1nw
