Addressing the global mobility summit, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi signalled that his government will soon come up with a brand-new policy on electric vehicles and alternative fuels.
The aim of the new policy will be at strengthening e-mobility drive in the nation.
Prime Minister said, “my vision for the future of mobility in India is based on 7 Cs (common, connected, convenient, congestion-free, charged, clean, cutting-edge).”
This proposal arises after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s statement saying the electric vehicles and vehicles based on alternate fuels will be exempted from road permits.
Uber’s executive Eric Allison said, “I am very excited to be in India and to be discussing the future of urban mobility with PM Modi. Uber is committed to partner the govt in this mission to move India forward.
