German automobile manufacturer Audi has recently unveiled its first ever fully electric ‘e-tron’ SUV at an opening price of $74,800.
The vehicle can drive from 0-100 kmph in 5.5 seconds and has a maximum speed of 200 kmph.
According to Scott Keogh, President of Audi of America, Audi is going electric and this is its first major step.
Audi chose the San Francisco area for the E-Tron’s global debut for several reasons.
Keogh believes that the California is a big, impactful market as the tech industry as well as the ecosystem is all there. So, that’s the right place to do it.
The company further feels it is an extremely compelling product.
Audi is also planning to bring its first all-electric car to India in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Audi is a member of the Volkswagen Group and has its roots at Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. Audi-branded vehicles are produced in nine production facilities Worldwide.
