Sourav Ganguly has been unanimously selected as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Indian cricket commentator and former cricketer and captain of the Indian national team Sourav Ganguly has been unanimously selected as the new President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The BCCI members have also unanimously nominated Jay Shah as Secretary and Arun Dhumal as Treasurer.
All these candidates are expected to be elected unopposed at the BCCI’s Annual General Meeting to be held on 23rd of October.
Sourav Chandidas Ganguly, born 8 July 1972) is affectionately known as Dada.
During his playing career, Ganguly established himself as one of the world’s leading batsmen and also one of the greatest captains of the Indian national cricket team.
Ganguly is one of the four members of the Indian Premier League (IPL)’s Governing Council, responsible for all the functions of the tournament.
He was appointed by the Supreme Court in January 2016.
Ganguly was awarded with the Banga Bibhushan Award from the Government of West Bengal on 20 May 2013.
Ganguly is currently a part of the Supreme Court of India appointed Justice Mudgal Committee probe panel for the IPL Spot fixing and betting scandal’s investigations.
