The tournament’s organising committee revealed that the event also created up to 315,000 workplaces-a-year for Russians during the build-up to the prestigious event.
Remarkably, over 1 million football fans visited the event.
The FIFA World Cup has a substantial impact on the Global Economy. The global governing body with 204-member countries, is beginning to assess the event as a global “big business”.
FIFA has budgeted spending about $791m on teams and players – including prize money, compensation, insurance for players injured on national-team duty, and the preparation costs for the teams.
