United States President Donald J. Trump received the red-carpet welcome on 27th of May at Japan’s Imperial Palace.
Mr. Trump made history by becoming the first world leader to meet with the new emperor of Japan.
Emperor Naruhito ascended to the throne on May 1, opening what is called the era of “Reiwa,” or “beautiful harmony.”
Trump later met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and held joint news conference.
Talking about his trip, Mr. Trump wrote on his Twitter page, “back from Japan after a very successful trip. Big progress on MANY fronts. A great country with a wonderful leader in Prime Minister Abe!.”
