3 employees of the Wipro call centre in Kolkata have been arrested for compromising the details of the customers of their UK telecom partner Talk Talk.
The three employees were arrested for breaching Wipro-TalkTalk agreement in regard the outsourcing operations and leaking valuable bank accounts. A recent Security review by Talk Talk revealed the alleged hacking by the 3 WIPRO staff.
Following this hacking, TalkTalk has decided to review its outsourcing agreement with WIPRO.
TalkTalk is a major fixed line broadband company based in Britain. With revenue of 1.7 billion pounds it competes with British Telecom and Virgin. It had suffered a major cyber-attack in October last year that had compromised the financial details of over 150,000 of its customers.
“Wipro is committed to maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of all customer data and has a zero tolerance policy on security breaches. Wipro is working closely with the customer in the investigation and will continue to extend its full cooperation to the investigating authorities. We are unable to comment on the matter that is currently under investigation,” Wipro said in a statement after this incident.
