Manikarnika was undoubtedly one of the most anticipated films of this year. However, upon release, the film unexpectedly has received a lukewarm response in the theatres. For reasons unknown (probably poor VFX), people do not like to go to theatres to watch this epic movie of the Independence struggle. Even the film has been highly ranked by both critics and audience, especially the performance of Kangana Ranaut, Manikarnika has failed to get a great response at theatres.
Manikarnika opened with an under par number of 8.75 Crores at Box Office, its collection doubled on Saturday due to Republic Day Holiday but again drastically went down on Sunday with the total of 14 Crores. Overall, during the first weekend, the movie has collected a total of 42 Crores at Indian Box Office Market.
Looking at the Budget of 125 Crores of Manikarnika, it is undoubtedly going to struggle to make itself a hit at the Box Office.
