The primary purpose of the STPF is to protect the wild animals including tigers and leopards.
The STPF would be established with around 112 workers. About 80 guards, 25 forest watchers and 3 forest range officers would work under Assistant Conservator of Forest.
The State Forest Protection Committee on Tuesday took the decision to setup the STPF and the expenditure would be shared by the Central and States governments at 60:40 ratio.
The committee also sanctioned funds worth Rs 2.25 crores to take required measures to stop forest fire accidents.
The committee after having directions from the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao further decided to make a wide-ranging plan to take up measures for forest conservation.
