e-commerce major Snapdeal has reportedly decided not to renew Aamir Khan’s contract as its brand ambassador.
Aamir Khan was the face of campaigns run by Snapdeal for the past one year but it has now decided against extending the one-year contract that ends later this month, triggering speculation that it is due to the actor’s controversial comments on intolerance in the country.
Aamir Khan crated a storm last November by revealing that his family contemplated moving to other country in the wake of rising intolerance. His comments ignited huge protests on social media.
Even top Political Leaders criticized him and consumers started deleting the Snapdeal app from their Smartphones, prompting the online giant to stop using advertisements featuring Aamir.
This jolt from Snapdeal came to Aamir Khan after the government has recently decided to end Khan’s contract for the Incredible India campaign.
