Several Indians have started uninstalling Snapchat app following company’s CEO ‘ poor India ’ remark.
Snapchat CEO, Evan Spiegel senses that you the Indian people are too poor to use his “rich people’s app”.
According to several media reports, Spiegel allegedly made the comment during a meeting to discuss the growth of the app’s user base in 2015.
In response to an employee concern about the app’s slow growth in an Emerging Market like India, which has a growing mobile penetration, Spiegel cut the employee mid-sentence seemingly saying, “This app is only for rich People.”
“I don’t want to expand into poor countries like India and Spain,” Spiegel reportedly said.
Based on data, Snapchat had adjacent to 4 million users in India last year.
