The secretary of economic relations TS Tirumurti said that the initiation of enhanced quota would solely depend on logistics and other goods.
Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Minority Affairs Minister, said this decision will come to be practiced from the current year.
Naqvi was happy at the decision made by PM and Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul Aziz and external welfare minister Sushma Swaraj.
This year women will be traveling alone for Haj that is without a male companion. This time around 2340 women will go alone for Haj.
After Indonesia, India is the second highest to sent people for Haj. Even last year around 1300 women traveled without male companions.
Saudi Arabia has increased the Haj quota by 5000 to 1,75,025. The Haj allowance was removed last year in the light of order by the Supreme Court.
