Retired #USArmy Col. Mark Vande Hei will launch the Kestrel Eye satellite from the International Space Station, Oct. 23, 2017.
The satellite will provide real time situational awareness to Army units on the ground and will be tested by U.S. Army Pacific Soldiers during upcoming exercises.
