H R Khan, Deputy Governor of RBI (Reserve Bank of India) welcomed the deal between nation’s largest mobile telephony player Airtel and Kotak Mahindra Bank for a payment bank, saying the RBI has been pushing for such tie-ups for long.
Addressing an event organised by ETNow, Khan said “If they have cost effective system, use mobile and telco newtork, then they can be successful.”
We have been striving for tie-ups for a long while, relatively few tests have truly fructified however one ought to be energized by this activity, he added.
