A five-judge constitution namely Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justice S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer are hearing the case.
Against the Allahabad High Court judgment of 2010, fourteen appeals have been filed.

Reconstitution of a five-judge bench was done on January 25 where Justice N V Ramana was dismissed.

The plot was demolished by ‘kar sevaks’ on December 6, 1992, was within the 2.77-acre land.
The Ram Janambhoomi Nyas (RJN) is the owner of the 42 acres non-disputed land.
In 2003, the 67 acres non-disputed land was decided to hand over to the original owners.
Over the government acquired land, seven individuals filed a case among them two were Lucknow based.
Shishir Chaturvedi and Sanjay Mishra, the petitioners agreed that Acquisition of Certain Areas of Ayodhya Act, 1993 breach over the right to religion of Hindus guaranteed and protected under all individuals are entitled to the freedom of conscience and free profession, practice and propagation of religion, Article 25 of the Constitution.
The court has restrained the government from meddling with the land that belongs to Shri Ram Janam Bhoomi Nyas, Manas Bhavan, Sankat Mochan Mandir, Ram Janmasthan Temple, Janki Mahal, and Katha Mandap.
It also claimed that the entire dispute debarred the Hindus to perform their fundamental rights under Article 25.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that nothing is impossible for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he can change impossible to possible and that building a large Ram temple in Ayodhya is a matter of belief of millions of Indians.
