Ritwik Projects Pvt Ltd, a company owned by Telugu Desam Party MP CM Ramesh, is said to have bagged the drinking water supply project worth Rs 468.53 Crore in Kuppam.
A high-powered committee headed by AP chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao has approved the contract. Interestingly, the Parliamentarian’s company was the lone applicant for the drinking water project.
This contract was given to Ritwik Projects by the state government to extend the phase two of the Handi-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi canal from Punganur to Kuppam.
CM Ramesh is known as the close aide of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. It is heard that Chandrabau used his political power to not encourage bids from other companies and gave away the project to his close aide.
Rumor also is that CM Ramesh and Chandrababu will pocket around Rs 100 Crore profit through this project.
