So far, we know about the world’s costliest painting ‘Les femmes d’Alger’ (Women of Algiers)’ by Picasso, which was sold for an unbelievable price of $179.4 million.
The other day, at an auction in Christie’s, New York, a painting of an outstretched nude woman by Amedeo Modigliani was sold for a whooping sum of $170.4 million, making it the world’s second highest bid. A Chinese man bought the painting by shelling the huge amount.
Usually, we see huge crowds for the auctions when the works of legends like Da vinci, Picasso etc but a huge gathering for a Boudior painting auction was witnessed the other day.
More than the crowd, the price that the piece of art was sold for brought the world to a standstill. This again proves that sex sells at phenomenal prices.
