Online platforms and Social Networks have a vital role to play in countering the abuse of their Infrastructure. They should take the responsibility and quickly develop a Code of practice to adress the spread of #fakenews & #disinformation.
The Code should contain measures to:
• Ensure transparency about sponsored content
• Provide greater clarity about algorithms
• Identify and close fake accounts
• Work closely with fact-checkers, researchers & public authorities
