NASA/ESA’s Hubble Space Telescope has uncovered a supermassive black hole that has been propelled out of the centre of a distant galaxy 3C 186. In the pic here, a bright, star-like looking quasar is seen in the centre of the image (this is the energetic signature of an active black hole). Its former host galaxy is the faint, extended object behind it. See http://sci.esa.int/hubble/58933-hubble-detects-supermassive-black-hole-kicked-out-of-galactic-core-heic1706/
