Madame Tussaud’s wax museum is one of the major tourist destinations in London. It has its branches spread across the world with Bangkok, Beijing, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Shanghai, Singapore and Wuhan being the names in Asia.
Now, our capital New Delhi is going to join this list as Madam Tussauds is set to open a new wax museum in the capital in 2017. This is confirmed by releasing a joint statement by the two sides after meeting between Prime Ministers of the two countries Narendra Modi and David Cameron.
“Merlin entertainments Plc is announcing its first business in India — a Madame Tussauds wax attraction scheduled to open in New Delhi in early 2017. Merlin is also looking to roll out several more of its iconic global ‘Midway’ attraction brands such as Sea Life and Legoland Discovery Centres in key cities across India, and expects to invest up to 50 million pounds there over the next ten years,” the statement read.
Indian celebrities like Mahatma Gandhi, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Hrithik Roshan are some of the names that have wax statues at the Madame Tussaud’s wax museum, London.
