Brazilian surfer Maya Gabeira surfed on a 68-foot wave to set a fresh Guinness World Records title for the largest wave surfed by a female.
The 31-year-old from Rio de Janeiro had set the world record in January, 2018 while contending in an event at the Praia do Norte beach in Nazaré, 80 miles north of Lisbon.
In 2009, Gabeira earned the ESPY award for Best Female Action sports Athlete. Later in the same year, she surfed the biggest wave ever by a female when she successfully rode a 14 metres (46 ft) wave at Dungeons, a big-wave surf spot in South Africa.
In 2010, Gabeira won the Teen Choice Award for best action sports athlete. She was awarded five times with the XXL Big Wave Awards, for Girls Best Overall Performance.
