The President of the United States of America Mr. Donald J. Trump and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping have agreed to follow a ‘100-day plan’ targeted at reducing the US trade deficit with China.
Mr. Trump and Mr. Jinping held their very first meeting at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago retreat in the Southern US state of Florida; and Mr Trump stated, he is seriously concerned because China’s economic and trade policies are threatening American jobs as well as exports.
Wilbur Ross, US Commerce Secretary later told the media that the presidents agreed to the plan to correct the trade imbalance. It includes the boosting of US exports to China.
Trump and Xi furthermore accepted to adopt the US-China Comprehensive Dialogue. The two leaders will supervise the new framework. It is planned to cover four fields. They consist of law enforcement and cyber Security, along with the economy.
Concerning North Korea, the two leaders specified again that they will boost cooperation to fully implement UN Security Council resolutions against the nation.
US President told Chinese President that the US will take unilateral action if China refuses to strengthen sanctions against North Korea.
Following the summit, US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson held a media session and said Trump told Xi toward the end of their Thursday dinner that the US military had fired cruise missiles against a Syrian government airfield in response to Syria’s use of chemical weapons.
Tillerson also stated Xi told Trump that he understood the US reaction, given the losses of children.
