According to a report in Times of India, the members of the committee think that heads of Social Media organisations and messaging apps like WhatsApp will have to take a closer look at the way their products and services are used.
WhatsApp had recently declined Indian government’s demand to trace the origin of messages.
The heads of popular social media companies include Facebook, WhatsApp, and Google have assured the Indian Government that they will look into the issue however based on reports, haven’t come up with an appropriate solution yet.
