terror attack close to British Parliament in London leaves 4 person dead; India, US, Germany, France, Australia & a number of nations condemn attack
According to latest reports, at least four people have been killed and about 40 injured in a terror attack took place close to the British Parliament in London on Wednesday.
According to a statement of Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Mark Rowley, the attack started when a car mowed down pedestrians on Westminster Bridge, before crashing into railings just outside Parliament. Rowley stated, it’s believed the attacker was inspired by international terrorism.
The House of Commons session was suspended and the members within the chamber had been evacuated.
Prime Minister Theresa May condemned the attack terming it sick and depraved.
Many world leaders including India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi have condemned the attack. In a tweet, Modi stated, at this difficult moment, India stands with the UK in the fight against terrorism.
US President Donald J. Trump said, ” spoke to U.K. Prime Minister Theresa May to offer condolences on the terrorist attack in London. She is strong and doing very well.”
Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull described it as an attack on parliament, freedom and democracy everywhere.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel stated, Germany stood by Britain firmly and resolutely.
French President Francois Hollande also sent a message of solidarity and support.
