The Government of India, Andhra Pradesh and the World Bank Thursday (July 16th) signed a pact for $250-million financial assistance regarding Andhra Pradesh Disaster Restoration Project which in turn will assist the state enrich its capacity to react promptly and efficiently within times of disaster.
The financing deal has been signed by the Centre, the Andhra Pradesh govt and the World Bank.
According to a release issued by the World bank, the objective of the project is to reestablish, enhance and enrich strength of public services, environmental amenities, as well as livelihoods within aimed communities connected with Andhra Pradesh, and increase the capacity of the state to respond promptly and also effectively to an eligible crisis or emergency.
The project, via its distinctive factors, will provide both direct and indirect benefits to the state of Andhra Pradesh.
The beneficiaries consist of communities of the damaged coastal regions, especially four seriously affected districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and East Godavari. These regions have an estimated Population of 13.3 million.
The project consists of 7 elements featuring long lasting electrical system, recovery of connectivity and housing Infrastructure, restoration and safety of beach front side, and restoration of ecological services and amenities and also livelihood support.
