“This fear that robots have eliminated jobs…this fear is not supported by the evidence so far,” World Bank’s Chief Economist Pinelopi Koujianou Goldberg has recently said in an interview.
The World Development Report 2019 stated rise of jobs in the industrial sector in East Asia has compensated for job losses in progressive economies.
The report also said, “the threat to jobs from technology is exaggerated.”
The World Bank’s World Development Report 2019 further argues that while automation displaces workers, technological Innovation creates more new industries and jobs on balance.
