According to a study reported by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), more than 250 people died worldwide while taking selfies between October 2011 and November 2017.
The study discovered that the majority of selfie deaths happened in India, followed by Russia, the United States and Pakistan.
The report further revealed that most of the victims were men (approximately 72%) and below the age of 30.
According to the Washington Post report in January 2016, about half of at least 27 selfie related deaths in 2015 had occurred in India.
Reports illustrate from 2014 up to August 2016, there have been at least 54 deaths in India while taking selfies.
