The Unique Identification Authority of India has issued approximately 123 crore Aadhaar cards to people as of November 30, 2018.
According to Union Minister Hansraj Ahir, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has issued approximately 123 crore Aadhaar cards to people as of November 30, 2018.
The Union Minister recently said in the Rajya Sabha that out of 123 crore Aadhaar cards, 6.71 crore were issued to children aged below 5 years.
The Union Minister also said that out of 123 crore Aadhar cards, over 29 crore were issued to those aged between 5-18 years.
Aadhaar is a 12-digit unique identity number that can be obtained by residents of India, based on their biometric and demographic data.
Aadhaar is the world’s largest biometric ID system. World Bank Chief Economist Paul Romer described Aadhaar as “the most sophisticated ID programme in the world.
