Chinese eCommerce giant Alibaba has developed a robot porter that can actually be able to exchange dialogues and deliver food or laundry to hotel visitors.
Alibaba’s AI division developed robot features an autonomous navigation system to recognise and escape complications, a communications system to control elevators and facial-recognition skill.
The robot porter developed by Space Egg is about one metre in height, and it has an ability to move at a speed of up to one metre per second.
In a press statement, Lijuan Chen of Alibaba AI Labs, the group that made the Space Egg, said
“The robot would bridge the gap between guest needs and the response time that they expect.” Space Egg said in a statement.
It further stated, “the robot will be the ultimate assistant for hotel guests who want everything quickly and conveniently at their fingertips.”
