The nation’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has issued a declaration permitting as many as 100 expatriates to obtain permanent residency each year.
In order to get eligibility, residents born in Qatar must have lived in the country for 10 years, while those born in a foreign country would need to have lived there 20 years.
Further, a knowledge of the Arabic language, proof of sufficient income and comprehensive legal standing are also mandatory.
