Google spinoff Wing has become the very first drone-delivery company to obtain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)‘s certification.
With the approval given by the FAA, the Wing is now allowed to make commercial deliveries in the United States.
The Bloomberg reports that “Wing Aviation LLC, now has the same certifications that smaller airlines receive from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration and the Department of transportation”
Wing, which works as an independent business under Google parent Alphabet Inc., says the drones of the company have accomplished more than 3,000 deliveries in Australia.
Wing in near future is planning to launch its delivery trail in Virginia of the United States.
Over the past 6 years, Wing developed its current aircraft to meet compliance standards and effectively deliver parcels through the air.
The drones are specifically designed for small parcel delivery.
