Indian International Cricketer and current Indian national team captain Virat Kohli has emerged as the highest scoring Asian Test captain of all time, accomplishing the achievement during his 45-run hit in the first innings of the second Windies Test held at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Hyderabad on 13th of October.
With this feat, Kohli surpassed former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq’s record of 4,214 runs.
A right-handed Top-order batsman, Kohli is regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the world.
Kohli has been the receiver of several prestigious awards such as the ICC Cricketer of the Year in 2017; ICC ODI Player of the Year in 2012, 2017 and Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World in 2016, 2017.
Kohli was also honoured with the Arjuna Award in 2013, the Padma Shri under the sports category in 2017 and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna, the highest sporting honour in India, in 2018.
