Indian international cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has become the first Indian cricketer to sign for English county side Hampshire.
The current Vice-Captain of the Indian cricket team in Test Cricket will play in 8 County Championship matches for Hampshire throughout May, June and July.
Reacting to the news, Ajinkya Rahane said, “I hope to score runs and win as a team and would like to thank BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) for allowing me to play.”
Rahane also plays for Rajasthan Royals in Indian Premier League. He plays primarily as a middle-order batsman in the Test format and top-order in batsman in white-ball forms of cricket.
Rahane made his international debut in a Twenty20 International against England at Manchester in August 2011.
