Enormous Cyber Attack Strikes Organisations in a Number of Countries
A huge cyber attack has hit a number of organisations in several nations. PCs in hundreds of places were locked by a programme that demands equivalent of $300 to unlock the systems.
An enormous number of hospitals including National Health Centre (NHS) branches across Britain were hit by the cyber attack, shutting down their computer systems and pushing the termination of patient appointment schedules.
National Health Service said, hospital computers were infected with a type of what they termed ransomware that blocks the use of a computer system.
Hospitals in regions across the country found themselves without access to their computers or phone systems.
British Prime Minister Theresa May said there was no evidence that patient data had been compromised in the attack.
Similar occurrences were informed from the United States, China, Russia, Portugal, Italy and various other nations.
