The people of Mizoram gave a decisive verdict to Mizo NationalFront with 26 out of 40 Assembly constituency seats in recently held Assembly Elections.
The election commission of India on 11th of December has declared the results of Mizoram assembly elections.
According tothe outcome, the people of Mizoram gave a decisive verdict to Mizo NationalFront with 26 out of 40 assembly constituency seats in recently held assembly elections.
Mizo National Front is followed by Independents and Indian National Congress with 8 and 5 assembly constituency seats respectively.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has won only one assembly constituency in the State.

According to the Indian constitution, the election process should take place to the Parliament as well as state legislative assemblies every five years, unless an emergency is under operation.
All the elections at the central and state level are conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI) while local body elections are conducted by state Election Commissions.
