Happy #WorldOceansDay!
On 30 June 2016, the Sentinel-3A satellite captured a wide area over the Barents Sea off of Norway’s northern tip. The light blue swirls at the centre of the image are a plankton bloom. The image was captured by Sentinel-3’s ocean and land colour instrument, OLCI. This instrument has 21 spectral bands, a resolution of 300 m and a swath width of 1270 km.
