American multinational technology company Google has opened its Artificial Intelligence (AI) research lab in Ghana.
The AI research lab will take on challenges faced across the Africa. Google’s AI research lab is reportedly the very first lab in Africa.
According to the head of Ghana’s Google AI centre, the AI lab would help develop the solutions in areas including agriculture, like helping in diagnosing certain types of crop disease, Google AI centre Ghana’s head said.
Ghana’s Google AI head also said, “Africa has many challenges where…use of AI could be beneficial.”
Google Artificial Intelligence is a division of Google and it was announced at Google in 2017 by CEO Sundar Pichai.
