GHMC to Distribute Two Dustbins to Each House in Hyderabad

As part of the “Swacch Hyderabad” initiative, Telangana Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao has launched a first of its kind scheme in the country, with the aim of segregating garbage at source level.

As part of this drive, the authorities of GHMC will be distributing 2 dustbins of different colors each to all the 42 lakh households in the city to collect dry and wet garbage separately.

The state government is spending Rs 42 Crore on garbage bins. The process of distribution of bins will be completed by November end and special programmes to create public awareness will also be initiated.

The chief minister has also flagged off 1,000 trolleys provided by GHMC to collect garbage from households. Another 1,000 trolleys will soon be provided under this initiative.

KCR said that Hyderabad was neglected by the rulers in the united Andhra Pradesh and his government has been working on all fronts to restore the civic Infrastructure of the city to make it an international city.

KCR announced that two reservoirs will be constructed to meet drinking water needs of the city people. A 30 TMC capacity reservoir will be built near Ramoji Film City and another 15 TMC capacity reservoir will come up at Keshavapuram near Shameerpet lake.
