A budget Airbus ‘Germanwings’ operated by Germany’s Lufthansa crashed in a remote territory of the French Alps on Tuesday, killing all 150 on board.
The Airbus A320 plunged for eight minutes into a snowbound distant mountain region in Southeastern France, however French authorities said no distress sign had been issued, Germanwings said to media.
According to latest developments, the airbus, carrying 144 travelers and six crew, was travelling from Barcelona to the western German city of Duesseldorf.
There were no survivors, and the authorities can’t rule out any theory on the cause, French Prime Minister Manuel Valls said.
“It is a disaster, another Air Transport tragedy, we will figure out what brought about the accident,” French President Francois Hollande said.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi expressed sorrow at the death of those aboard the Germanwings airline.
“Crash of the Germanwings flight is extremely unfortunate. We share the sorrow & pain of the families of those on board,” Modi said.
