During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka, both countries on Friday consented to four agreements.
As part of three-nation tour of Indian Ocean Island Nations, PM Modi met Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena and talked about bilateral and issues of territorial significance.
“I am aware of the significance of this visit. This is the first stand alone bilateral visit by an Indian Prime Minister since 1987,” Modi said while addressing joint press meet.
“This meeting with Sri Lankan President Sirisena has been extremely gainful and it gives me optimism about the future of our relations,” PM Modi said.
According to reports, both countries agreed and singed four key agreements on customs, visa, youth development and building Rabindranath Tagore commemoration in Sri Lanka.
