For the very first time, India has turned around from a net importer of electricity to net exporter of electricity.
According to Central Electricity Authority, which is the assigned specialist of the Indian administration for cross border trade of electricity, India has exported about 5,798 million units to Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar during the current budgetary year.
Export to Nepal has expanded 2.5 times and export to Bangladesh has risen 2.8 times over the most recent three years.
Based on our understanding, a few more cross border links with neighbouring nations are in the pipeline which would further boost export of electricity.
