Whenever a natural calamity strikes, it has become common for certain sections of society to dig deep into the matters of how much cinema celebrities have contributed for the relief and rescue efforts. These people don’t consider industrialists and businessmen who earn far better than cinema stars. It is always the amounts donated by stars that become a point of discussion.
In the case of recent Chennai floods, actors like Allu Arjun, Shah Rukh Khan, Mahesh Babu, NTR, Rajinikanth, Dhanush etc have responded in time and donated some big amounts. Some celebs like Siddharth, Rana Daggubati etc invested much of their efforts rather than donating money for Tamil Nadu CM relief fund.
Despite all this, criticism has engulfed when some senor heroes like Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Nagarjuna, Balakrishna etc and star actresses did not contribute. Although as we have pointed out earlier, no businessman has come forward to contribute but no one cares. However, if just one celebrity fails to lend hand due to his personal issues, certain sections of society say film celebs have not done anything.
It seems that people have taken film stars for granted.
