The Denmark government is planning to label food products with stickers that would rate their impact on the environment and climate.
Denmark is taking a revolutionary step towards educating the consumers on the food products they use and their impact on environment and climate.
The Denmark government is planning to label food products with stickers that would rate their impact on the environment and climate.
“We want to give consumers the means to assess in superMarkets the environmental impact of products,” Danish government officials said according to CNN report.
The report also said that the proposal is being backed by Danish agriculture and Food Council.
However, the Danish agriculture and Food Council also warned that the nutritional value must not be forgotten together with environmental impact.
On the other hand, the council director believes that the proposal implementation would not be so easy as Denmark has already been working with the European Union for the past 10 years to develop a label on food products to rate climate change.
