The Congress Party on Tuesday reached a seat-sharing agreement with the DMK for the Lok Sabha elections 2019.
The party will contest in 10 seats including 9 in Tamil Nadu and a single seat in Puducherry.
According to Mr. Alagiri, Tuesday’s meeting was attended by AICC President Rahul Gandhi and senior leaders Ahmed Patel and Ghulam Nabi Azad. The party MP Kanimozhi represented DMK in the meeting.

“We had a smooth discussion and are extremely satisfied with the seats allotted,” said TNCC president K.S. Alagiri. He further added that Ahmad Patel, a senior Congress leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad or Mukul Wasnik would visit Chennai on Wednesday with DMK leader M.K. Stalin, to make the formal announcements.
While the Congress leader refused to tell the number of seats allotted to his party, DMK sources revealed that the Congress would contest in 10 seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
