India has decided to install a satellite tracking station in South Vietnam to keep an eye on China from the space to put check to its advancements.
After the satellite station is set up, the entire South China Sea area will be within the range of Indian satellites. As per Marine Security experts of India and Vietnam, the satellite station would be beneficial for both the countries. The data collected from the imaging station will be shared by both the nations.
Apart from having an eye on China, this satellite station will also strengthen Indo-Vietnamese relations in Communications, agriculture and tourism fields. The Indian Space Research Organization will be providing the expertise to set up the $23 million tracking and monitoring station.
Vietnam also has its problems with China over the South China Sea. China is setting up artificial islands in the troubled South China Sea to claim its naval sovereignty over the entire sea.
