A Canadian company is cashing in on the China’s pollution crisis by selling bottles of fresh mountain air for upto $28 each.
Reportedly, Beijing was issued its First Ever red alert recently over its hazardous pollution levels. Schools and constructions have been shut down for a period of time. Attempts to take a percentage of the cars off the road are also on. Shanghai has also seen its own smog problem hitting highest level.
Amidst these conditions, the sales of Vitality Air bottles containing fresh Rocky mountain air from Banff and Lake Louise, Canada, soared in China. The company started marketing in China less than two months ago and the first shipment of 500 bottles is already sold out with another shipment of 700 bottles on its way.
A single bottle of “premium oxygen” costs $27.99 while a bottle of Banff air costs $23.99. Canada may be struggling with its low oil prices, but the latest environmental crisis of China is proving to be a lucrative opportunity for it.
