Boxing legend Muhammad Ali has died at the age of 74. The former world heavyweight boxing champion, one of the planet’s best-known sports stars, passed away at a hospital a short while ago in the United States city of Phoenix, Arizona.
Boxing icon was having difficulties from a respiratory health issues. Mr.Ali whose renowned boxing career expanded from 1960 to 1981. His level of resistance towards the Vietnam War spotted him banned from the sport for a long time.
He was awarded the highest US civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, in 2005.
Meanwhile condolence announcements have already been flowing in from around the globe.
The World Boxing Association has released a statement stating that Mr.Ali was an outstanding committed athlete, who gave the best in the ring, as well as a role model and inspiration for many young people.
