Bitcoin slips by over $1000 in less than 2 days
Cryptocurrency leader Bitcoin dropped below $6,800 on Friday to trade more than 5 percent down on the day, having tumbled by well over $1,000 since beating an all-time high on Wednesday.
Bitcoin dropped to $6,800 on the Bitfinex exchange by 1300 GMT.
On Wednesday around 1800 GMT, it had touched $7,888 after a software advancement planned for next week that could have split the cryptocurrency in two was adjourned.
In spite of losing nearly 7 percent this week, bitcoin is still up more than 600 percent to date this year.
