Analysis of road accident #data (2015) shows that about 1374 accidents & 400 deaths occur every day on Indian roads while 54.1% of all people killed on road are of the 15-34 year age group. Without action, road traffic crashes are predicted to rise to become the 7th leading cause of death by 2030.
Today, Minister Nitin Gadkari inaugurated the National Workshop on Road Safety in Visakhapatnam. This workshop would serve as a platform to discuss ways and means of improving road safety and achieving the objective of the Brasilia Declaration to reduce the road accident deaths by 50%.
