Few hours after the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) sought for a report over VIPS delaying Air India flights, the civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju tendered an apology to all travelers bothered by the delays.
While addressing a press conference on Thursday, Raju told, “We apologize to all passengers who have faced inconvenience.”
“If there is violation of rules, we will ask why it happened and that it should not happen,” Raju said.
Raju also said that the ministry is working on planes to dodge such episodes in future.
Two incidents involving Air India were reported recently.
In the first incident Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra was accused for delaying a flight to US after his assistant forgot to carry a valid passport.
Fadnavis, however, denied the report as false.
On June 24, a flight from Leh to Delhi carrying Rijiju was delayed for about 60 minutes and three travelers, including a child, were allegedly offloaded to accommodate him and his Personal Assistant.
